James A. Alexander

Jim Alexander has been actively involved in real estate development in the Washington, DC metropolitan area for over 30 years, during which time he has been responsible for the production of a diverse portfolio of mixed-use office, commercial and multi-family projects. In this capacity, Mr. Alexander has formed joint ventures and strategic alliances with leading institutional and private real estate interests. In addition, he has provided strategic advisory counsel on complex real property acquisitions, restructurings and dispositions.

 

Prior to establishing the Albemarle Group in 1995, Mr. Alexander served as Senior Vice President of the Jonathan Woodner Company, a diversified development and management firm in Washington, DC. While at the Woodner Company, he directed the firm’s Washington, DC office and was responsible for the firm’s development activities. Prior thereto, Mr. Alexander was staff counsel at the Pennsylvania Avenue Development Corporation, the federal agency charged with implementing the master-plan for the re-development of the Pennsylvania Avenue corridor of downtown Washington, DC.

 

Mr. Alexander is a graduate of Lafayette College and the Penn State Dickinson School of Law.
